The first pea landed on his forehead. Juliet stared at him frozen and three-year old David looked like he was about to start crying. He knew he'd done something wrong, Jack had no doubt about it. He'd been in David's age once and he knew how tempting it was to throw peas around. He'd done it himself and the consequences had been painful.
That was then - with him having a father. But now he was the father and he was about to turn this Thanksgiving dinner into a funhouse when one of his peas took off in Juliet's direction ...
