Downtown … that was always a place far away from her quiet life; tantalizing and the exact opposite of the normality of her daily routine.

Downtown … that is where her new friends live (and him).
Downtown … that is the old cafeteria.
Downtown … that is where her clinic is.
Downtown … a place full of bad memories and filled with guilt, and the bitter taste of failure.

Downtown … back in her old life, it was a place she loved to go to have fun.
Downtown ...

now, it is just a place so far away from what her life has become; not even Petula Clark can make it real for her anymore.
