"Jack!" Kate's voice woke him and Jack instinctively reached out for her. Through her damp clothes he could feel her shiver.
"I'm here, Kate," he tried to soothe her.
"I… I thought I lost you. In these cages."
"It was just a nightmare. I won't go anywhere." He gently kissed her temple. "Go back to sleep."
When her steady breathing signaled him she'd dozed off again, Jack finally allowed fear to take over and the memories were enough to keep him awake for the rest of the night. He couldn't remember ever being so scared before in his life as he'd been in the collapsed cage with Charlie.
