[Drabble] Silver lining & Fading away {Lost}

Everything Richard says about the island sounds so unbelievable and ridiculous (like something a child like Julian would make up to entertain her); but the more she listens to Richard, the more she believes him.
She is furious, when he tells her about Linus and how this man tricked Juliet to stay on the island. For a while she even hates Richard for helping him.
But then he starts telling her about a plane crash, about time travel and a bomb (and more things Rachel can’t really understand), and once the horror about how her sister had died subsides, Rachel feels a strange happiness rising inside of her as she realizes what really happened (what was more important than anything else that happened and can’t be changed anymore):
Juliet is dead, gone forever; but she wasn’t alone when she died. She was happy, in love- and loved…
And all Rachel can think of is the urge to find James Ford; to thank him for everything he did, and when Richard promises her to do everything he can to help, she smiles and for the first time since he came, he gives her an honest, relieved smile that melts her heart.

He keeps staring at the mirror, fascinated by all these changes happening to him.
Black turns into silver-gray and he has already some deep wrinkles around his eyes.
He is still unsure, whether to like it or not.
It’s what he wanted and yet it’s strange, now that it’s actually happening.
He is free but how long will he be able to enjoy freedom?
Won’t it be over too quickly to even count?
Back then, a day was like forever; now it’s only a blink of an eye.
For the first time in decades, Richard is really scared. And alone.
