you know it really isn't fair for romantic movies and novels to be in existence. all they do is give women the idea that men love women as deeply as women love men. it's preposterous. women think that men should be they way they are in movies (i.e. noah calhoun from the notebook) and, in turn, men will always let them down. men are not the way they are in movies; i doubt if they even really know what love is. why set women up for disappointment? why not just cut the bullshit and portray men the way they really are so at least women can be prepared for what they're going to get in real life?
if you think i'm wrong, watch a "girly" movie with a guy. while you're sitting there buying into all the crap he's sitting there laughing at how stupid the movie is because he knows it's not real.
i'm not saying that all the guys in the entire world are like this, but i am firmly convinced that at least 98% of them are.
but therein lies the conundrum: now you think that you're going to find the guy who fits in to the other 2%. maybe you think you have already. here's another statistic for you. 98% of the time you're wrong.
ain't that some shit?
ALSO, isn't it interesting how you can listen to lyrics by guys like john mayer, jason mraz, etc. that melt your heart, i.e.
"I tell everyone
I smile just because
I've got a city love
I found it in Lydia
And I can't remember
life before her name"
-City Love by John Mayer
...and yet you never see any of these guys with their true love living happily ever after. they go through women just like everyone else. interesting.
