Soiree was Saturday. It went pretty well. I hosed up the last note though. That kinda irritated me, but the double-tounging section went very well. Blended well with the piano and everything.
Sunday while my sister was at PYS, my mom and I went to the mall. We were walking past Hot Topc when I saw a Princess Bride post. So I went in and bought 2 shirts, a keychain and the special edition DVD. Yeah, that was fun. The Princess Bride rocks!
Not much happened today. School has been pretty boring. We finished The Scarlet Letter in English. Glad that's over. See, the original idea was pretty cool, and I found the Arthur Dimmesdale character interesting. He was the only character with a solid personality! Most of the characters were doing completly off-the-wall and out of character things through the entire book. And the main character kept changing personalities. One minute she's strong Hester Prynne with the unbreakable will, then the next minute she's comtemplating killing her "beloved" daughter and then killing herself. Sorry, but that doesn't make for a very likable character. The author is a talented descriptive writer. The downside is, he never stopped descrbing! He dedicated entire chapters to a character walking from the front door to the house next door! So, no this was not the most enjoyable book. The story line was good, but it wasn't executed for my taste. What's the point in this paragraph, you ask? It seems to be pointless complaining. Well guess what? It is! Not really. But think how cool it would be if we got to analyze books like Wicked and stuff. It's a shame that modern writing is not deemed worthy enough to be studied in the high school class room.
