The Christian Science Monitor reported last week that some cities are pushing to allow legal immigrants to vote in local elections. "Six Maryland communities already allow the practice, Chicago lets legal immigrants vote for school board members." However other attempts to open local elections to legal immigrants were blocked by state lawmakers. ( Read more... )

Two anti-war protesters, arrested while trying to infiltrate the RAF Fairford base to disable B-52 airplanes, were acquitted by a UK jury because other means of legitimate protest had failed.
