Sunday night, after attending some 4th of July festivities, I went up to Lake Livingston with my stepmom, sister CL, and niece CL2. A relative of my stepmom's has a house up there. We spent Monday enjoying the lake- went out on the boat, then swimming, then floating, ate, rode around on a golf cart looking at cute lake houses, then my sister and I took a side trip into town (bonus: car ride put the toddler down for a desperately-needed nap) and at sunset I took another swim, alone, in the gorgeous lake. I swam way out from the dock and floated and swam some more and floated and looked at the sky, and the water, and imagined things and swam some more. Monday evening we came home. It was a really wonderful trip.
When I got home R told me that Serena had been meowing all day long. He thought maybe she missed me. And it turns out he was right! Since I got back she's stuck close to me- she even slept in the living room with me, when usually she sleeps in the bedroom. Aww!
