Setsuna couldn't feel his arm.
He couldn't feel much of anything at all, really. He swam in and out of consciousness - though when he was awake, he could tell that he was in the cockpit of his Gundam - not 00... Exia. The entire right side of the cockpit was a twisted, charred wreck, still bearing the scars from his final clash with Graham Aker.
The right side of his flight suit, too, was charred - he still couldn't feel his arm on that side. The beam saber had missed spearing him by a few meters at most, but the proximity had been more than enough to injure him.
The fight had left a large, gaping hole in the armor around the Mobile Suit's cockpit, and if it wasn't for his flight suit, Setsuna would have long perished in the cold vacuum of space. But as it was... he could see the Earth through the hole, a sparkling blue gem of a world that somehow managed to look incredibly vast from up in space - but yet so very small at the same time.
He was drifting. The Exia's GN Drives were inactive, and for the first time Setsuna could remember, the cockpit of the Exia was truly silent.
Why was it that the world looked so peaceful from up here?
Beads of light crept over the horizon, soon materializing into the Sun... the Exia's trajectory took it out into the sunlight, out into the dawn - a brilliant wave swept into his cockpit, blindingly dazzling --
--and then it went black.
