So Charles has risen in power/importance that he gets invited to some big dinner Shaw is at, and Erik is in and they are all ready to assassinate him, but Emma is next to him and mind reads their intentions and Charles has never met another telepath so EVERYTHING GOES TO SHIT, and Erik and Charles have to flee. And now Charles is known to be, well, a would be assassin, and with Emma they can't infiltrate shit anymore, so Charles is like, ERIK, MY FRIEND, LET US FORGET ALL THIS AND GO HERD SHEEP TOGETHER; I HEAR ITHACA IS PRETTY RAD. OKAY, SO.

Ennis and Jack work at this shitty call center, and neither of them is very good at it, nor do they particularly like it. Ennis is low on options, though--or so he believes--because he just barely barely graduated high school and he's only ever done odd jobs that he can't even really put on a resume. And Jack, Jack had this band he was in? So he dropped out of college because, band. Then his parents sort of freaked and disowned him because he was supposed to be the first in the family to graduate college, and, well, he was like FUCK YOU PARENTS IMMA GO ON TOUR, and then the lead singer totally did a bunch of drugs and ripped off a bunch of fans with merch sales and generally stopped making shows and started puking all over stage and really also their music sucked, so: the band broke up ( ... )

This pattern continues for a few days (the thing lasts a week) and one night they decide to tear up the room, because: PARTYING LIKE ROCK STARS, ALL RIGHT. So they jump up and down on one of the beds until they decide they are spilling too much booze, so they stop to drink some more. But it turns out they totally wrecked the fucking bed, and Ennis is trying to pass out on it but he's drunk enough to make little whiny noises about how much it sucks, until Jack is like GODDAMNIT ENNIS and Ennis is like I GOT THIS and 20 minutes later Jack is all, LIKE FUCK YOU DO, GET OVER HERE OR I AM GOING TO PUNCH YOU IN THE FUCKING FACE SO I CAN GET SOME SLEEP ( ... )

oh, god. I'm so behind on, well, everything right now, but thank you, seriously. I can't believe the overwhelming positive response I've gotten to what little XMFC fic I've contributed to the fandom, and people I don't even know are giving me shout outs and recs, and basically everything is SUPER GROOVY.

And, oh hahah, the BBM AU novel. Not gonna lie; it preys on my thoughts. Somehow my brain going rodeo --> ROCK BAND makes perfect sense to me, and I want Ennis to go to some of Jack's shitty gigs and be like, "man, you guys suck," but in fewer words, because it's Ennis, and Jack would be all, I KNNOOOWWW, RIGHT? ISN'T IT GREAT?

and somehow more fight scenes because the part of the movie where Ennis kicks a man in the jaw with his cowboy boot makes me swoon each time. uhhh.

YAY PARTIES! And yes, I can absolutely see Ennis telling Jack "Little Darlin' y'all are fucking tragic" and Jack being all flirty eyes about it - ENNIS NOTICED ME WHEE!

Requesting XMFC Cop AU. OOH or XMFC Jane Austen AU - I feel like you could slip Charles into a Jane Austen novel and if he could stop saying groovy for five minutes, no one would know he was in the wrong place.
