This is our review of the fucking brilliant first part of the Doctor Who Season finale, so there are obviously going to be spoilers under the cut.

This episode was made of pure win. And the next review is probably going to end up fawning over this first part of the season finale. But I can’t help it. It was, in my opinion, fucking brilliant.

I didn't know you watched Doctor Who! You didn't tell me!

But I agree with you on your judgement of the episode: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! summarises it quite well.

You do realise that from now one you're going to hear a lot more about DW and TW from me don't you?

I have no idea, it might have some significance, I'm going to have to rewatch the episode cause I'm quite sure I missed a lot of details with all that was happening.

I do think there is something going on with that regeneration though. My sister said she thought only half of the Doctor was hit by the Dalek and since he has two hearts...

"Assuring them he’d be back, not knowing what they know, that the Daleks are on their way down."

Did he not know? I need to rewatch that scene, I thought he knew and still left them behind. This makes sense if he thought they were safer at the Hub.

The way I saw it Ianto or Gwen (not sure which anymore) sees on the computer that the Daleks have found them and tells the other when Jack's off getting his big gun and when Jack says he's going to find the Doctor, neither of them mention it, so I assume he doesn't know.
Also I don't believe he would leave his team to face the Daleks on their own, he'd either take them with him or stay behind.
My interpretation of why Ianto and Gwen don't tell him is that they know that The Doctoer is their only hope and that Jacks help is more needed there then in the hub.

But I need to rewatch as well to be sure that's just what I thought when I saw it.

Just rewatched it, you're right. Ianto tells Gwen while Jack's busy about the Daleks. Jack figures they're safer in the Hub. I guess Gwen and Ianto didn't know that Jack could transport 3 people with the Vortex Manipulator, huh? Damn it puts a whole new spin on that scene, him not knowing they're dead meat and them essentially saying goodbye. Obviously they'll still be alive for S3 of TW, but still...

It makes me appreciate Gwen and Ianto even more.
In essence they do the same for Jack as he once did for the Doctor. They face the Daleks so he can go on and help save the earth.

They are loyal to the end, it really shows the evolution TW3 has gone through since the beginning of the series.

I loved that bit! It made me go all happy and fuzzy inside.
(I suppose that's the fangirl in me coming out.)

It's nice to see something like that confirmed, it seems that Jack at least has to ask permission from Ianto or something.
