Dude, Z, I'm soooo sorry. I totally spaced on the Cherry Festival-you connection. If you want to come up later this week, let me know. My cell number is on my facebook profile and I'll see what we can work out

S'all good. I need to find someone more bribable than the person I tried to bribe into bringing me up this time, next time. My powers of manipulation must be waning.
And yeah - being out here is ssooooo way different than in Vermont. It's like Europe again - they say they're OK with gay and everything else, but they really aren't. Repressed Midwest. I might choose not to fight the good battle here either.
And I have no phone. I don't want to get a phone. But somehow, I think I'll end up getting one. /defeated.
Well, if you find the means and the excuse to come up here anytime before Oct 13, give me a call.
Most of the people I work with are from the East coast or are otherwise liberal. But others... they just seem to think gay is weird. Then there are the people I don't work with who just don't want to know. It seems like they just want to ignore the whole thing. Luckily, I'm in a pretty liberal area so there isn't much in the way of violence or open hatred... just an underlying current of "why can't they just go away." So weird.
Phones are in fact useful. Especially when you're hard to get a hold of like I am.
mmkay. I really need more minions. I'll probably find more once school starts in September, but in the meantime I'm still hunting for a posse.
huh. Yeah. When I get the 'why can't they just go away' vibes, I just layer on the rainbow more lately. :D
Yeah I got myself a phone now....although finding one that works (somehow my phone is broken?) is interesting. In any case, my number's 734-474-7980. I ought to have something that works next week...for some reason mine doesn't want to charge.
it's not just michigan, it's the whole midwest. chicago is something of an exception, since it's a big city. i'd say cosmopolitan...but really...it's not.
that's what you get when you have a ton of conservatives allll over.
at least they're not as bad as the mormons. they really hate gays. to the point of handing out anti-homosexuality pamphlets to their youngin's. makes me sad.
on the upsite, i'm trying to find a place to live in the most diverse part of slc, a neighborhood called sugarhouse. i think i saw a pride flag somewhere, and there are plenty of tattoos and piercings floating around. and cute girls working at the coffee shop. and since its sugarhouse, i really doubt they're mormon, what with it being the most liberal part of the city and all...
now i just need to actually find someplace to live down there...
