"Hey!" He greeted Jill, popping by the stool next to her. This was that same girl... Jill, wasn't it? Yeah, that was it. "Told you I'd show up," He grinned, turning towards the bar to see what kind of beer would strike his fancy. He remarked about one certain kind that seemed to be pretty fine, and wound up having a mug of it being poured for him.
"Huh, thanks," He muttered toward... whatever... just served his beer for him. Ah well, time to enjoy, he thought, as he took a half-swig.

"Hello," One side of her mouth tugged into something like a smirk, "That you certainly did, Surge." the way she pronounced his name- with the slightest pause before the '-ge'- made it clear how close she'd come to unintentionally calling him 'sir'. Again. She hid was little embarrassment this caused in a sip of her wine, and glanced again towards the bar.
"It's a bizarre place, this school. I assume this is the kind of thing that just needs getting used to." Jill shrugged, and turned her attention back to Surge. "I know you've only been here for a short time, but are you enjoying it so far?"

"Yeah, didn't expect most of this. A place full of gears and brought to me by a talkin' mouse," He snickered and shook his head, realizing just how strange that, indeed, was. "Seems pretty good, though. The kids around here aren't as tiny and baby-like as I expected!" AS tiny and baby-like. To a man like Surge, though... they still did seem that way. Sort of.

...Of course, she forgot almost entirely about caring about the answer to this question as he ordered.
"That's.. Quite a bizarre combination."

"I've seen people drink a lot of strange crap back in Vermilion's bars, but that's just..." He trailed off and simply just decided a bit of a facepalm would describe this quite well.

Fortunately, Roger was quite the good climber. He had a little difficulty, but he was sitting up and eyeing the bar's selection in no time. "Aw, gee, nothin' I haven't had before!"

... what.
"Aren't you too young to be in a place like this, baby?" Surge snickered, his eyes not on the 'kid', but the door, almost in a gesture meaning that he ... supposedly should not be here.

Ah well, whatever, he'll go with 'trusting' this guy for now... even though his mind still wouldn't accept the fact that he was faculty. There was no WAY. "Tiniest guy I've ever seen before, I'll give ya that, kid!" Sorry, Roger, even if you're faculty, Surge will still call you kid and such by habit.
"So, who are you supposed to be if you're a member of staff?" If Roger listened well enough, he might have heard a light emphasizing of 'member of staff' as the lieutenant spoke.

Irrational worries clouded Otacon's head as he found his way to the bar. What if he got drunk and started telling everyone about Philanthropy? Or started calling Snake... Snake? He glanced behind himself for the third time; Snake was still at least 10 feet behind him. That was good...
Entering the bar, Otacon, rather than finding himself a seat, sunk backwards, towards the corner of the room in an attempt to avoid any conversation. Which was slightly ironic, considering he had decided on coming in an attempt to be more social.

She'd been glancing towards the door every so often, and caught Otacon just as he was coming in the door.
Jill was... perhaps a bit tipsy by this point, and her earlier conversation with Surge, and... rather strange interaction with Sam had loosened her up enough that she had no problem in getting up off her stool, and making her way over to him, a friendly smile on her face.
"Hello, Hal! Why hide like that? They've got some pretty good drinks here!"

"Oh, uh. I'm not hiding," he tried. When Snake walked in, Otacon glanced in his direction, keeping his eyes on him while still talking to Jill. "Really? I'm not much of a drinker. Do you know what's good?"
He paused, and looked back at Jill, flashing an uncomfortable-looking smile.

"Hello everyone." he greeted politely before taking a seat and ordering a mug of beer. "It's nice to meet you all." He smiled but couldn't help but notice that one of the other teachers seemed rather young but shrugged it off, assuming he was just very short.
