Dec 22, 2008 21:31

Thanks to mr_booboo for hosting, and everybody for contributing to the fantastic meal. Special mention for my money goes to the turkey-cooker dragonfly8 and ravenclaw_harpy for the vegetable cheese balls. I think that was our best Christmas meal yet ( Read more... )

I love the verb "to harsh my squee" :-)

English. What a wonderful language :P

And Merry Christmas to you.

I'm not sure it is English. Fannish, maybe.

Enjoy your Christmas, as best you can!

I'm far more interested in you and what you think than I am in maintaining unbroken fannish enthusiasm *loves you, a lot* So noted! :P

I cannot harsh your squee about those boots, for they are fabulous and I am now also coveting them. :)

In other news, you are still gorgeous.

Lovely midsummer light in that kitchen (I think it is?)

The boots are a breast cancer fundraiser by a major workwear company! As soon as I set eyes on them I knew I had to have a pair. Purple is just about my favourite colour. I wear steel caps a lot with my horse work, so I can even justify it as a business expense!

Thanks for the compliment!

The whole house is light and bright and gorgeous!

Such a refreshing thing to hear. People on t'internet can be so touchy about their pet shows/projects etc.

You won't believe this, it was only yesterday that I was thinking something along the same lines as fandom providing a space like that to be wildly enthusiastic or silly in. I think that's something a lot of adults don't have, and it's beyond price.

I've not been feeling particularly fannish of late, but I have been basking in the reflected squee of people like you, LOL. And no, I won't be able to oblige your other request by telling you what I hate about Boston Legal, either. I've loved that show ever since I managed to get over the fact that both Captain Kirk and James Spader have got old. *g*

I hate the thought that people might have something interesting to say, but be censoring themselves out of entirely misplaced concern for my feelings! Much more than I want to bask in my latest interest, I want to have the conversations that they're electing not to start.

I went almost three years without feeling very fannish, but this year it's returned with a vengeance. Maybe it'll happen to you, too! It's such a great arena for exercising enthusiasm and playfulness, which normal adult life sometimes doesn't leave enough room for.

James Spader never made any impression on me before last week, but I did and still do find it a bit hard not to see Captain Kirk in Denny. I'm extremely grateful to William Shatner for giving us those two characters!

The colours in your icon are great and would go well with my new boots!

I tried to justify ordering an elastic sided pair as well as the lace-ups! Aren't they a brilliant idea!
