Soup needs another run through the blender, it's making a decent effort at jumping off the spoon. :)

It's that chunky broccoli soup I served you and K once. You're probably right. Fortunately I'm a better accountant than cook!

I took your advice and put the leftovers back in the food processor. I'm eating them right now and what do you know, it's like actual soup! Where the solids and liquids are combined!

You'll have to come over again and I'll serve the new, improved version.

I figured, I may be having a bad day but at least I can do something positive and eat properly! However as juffles pointed out, my soup-making skills leave something to be desired.

She's just picky. Mine looks like yours, except less healthy.

He's a he!

I don't even like broccoli much as a plain vegetable, but I love broccoli soup.

I put my digital camera on the little shelf my computer monitor sits on. Had to take it twice since the first time I cut off my head just above my nose.

Would you mind giving me the recipe for the brocolli soup. Sounds yummy & we need to use up some brocolli.

Sure. I don't have the exact recipe any more, but you cook 2-4 heads of broccoli in water, then put the pieces in the food processor and munch them up, then return them to the water. Cook an chopped onion in a little oil and add it to the soup. For flavouring I use about 3-4 chicken stock cubes, but you might like to use vegetable ones, and quite a lot of black pepper. Sometimes some lime juice if I have it. The original recipe called for 1/4 cup of cream to be added right at the end, but I normally use a random quantity of skim milk or soy milk. If it's not smooth enough, put it all back in the food processor. (I just learned that step myself!) Sorry I can't be more specific, but it always tastes good!

Sometimes I munch the raw broccoli in the food processor before cooking it, too, if I don't feel like fishing the cooked pieces out of the water.

Oh, and I normally cook a clove of garlic with the onion.

Disappointed :-( ravenclaw_harpy September 28 2008, 11:26:58 UTC
I was so hoping to tell you that I made a scrummy brocolli soup.

I think you do the right thing not pulverising the brocolli, because I did & the resulting texture was vile. Alas, the flavour was nice, but neither of us could actually face eating it. And it sounds so scrummy. So, thank you for the recipe. Thought you would want to know how it went.

At least it will be scrummy for the worms. They like food that they can gum. And, although there is lime in it, there isn't too much, so they shouldn't object to that - and I didn't get to the putting in milk stage.

Brocolli 1: ravenclaw harpy nil.

Sorry to hear it didn't work. You probably have higher standards for food than I do!

I think that you too would have given it a miss. Honest! I'll give it another go when I have recovered from the trauma of this attempt - one where I don't try to make it less lumpy. I think I would prefer bigger lumps.
