Olympics, EAJs, and an alpaca with messy eating habits

My life for the last two weeks has mostly consisted of working on EAJ2 in front of the Olympics, interspersed with tree planting and weed spraying. Watching sport at least 8 hours a day has been different enough to my usual routine that I almost feel like I've had a holiday. Well, a change, anyway. I'm now suffering from withdrawal and counting

I haven't been responding because I'm still trying to figure this out.

And yes, apparently in the wild they use dung piles for that purpose. Possibly she figured out that the others would leave the food she peed on, meaning there was more for her, and by the time I started separating her it had become a habit?

The peeing in the food bowl thing does rather sound like a "I'm claiming this for Miranda!' thing. (Much like licking a muffin so no-one else gets to it!)

I'm not sure how you would prevent it, aside from isolating her when it is feeding time, so she doesn't feel threatened, but it sounds like you are doing that already.

Yes, I bet you're right. I was too slow to realise what she was doing, and now it's probably become a habit. It'll be interesting to see if she grows out of it.
