Out for a stroll

Cria No. 2 for 2008 was born yesterday, while I was at work in the city and my mother was out here keeping watch. Mom called me a number of times in an increasingly happy mood as things progressed as they were supposed to. She wasn't actually too worried, just alert. There was no element of fear or alarm like there is when they see dogs.

After last year's experiences, we're mightily relieved that things are going smoothly, let me tell you!

Oh, what a wonderful story to read first thing in the morning. Happy news, funny news. I love it. So glad to see Miranda looking happy and healthy! And yes, I love that you'd not know if you had an emu hanging around your own place.

It's dry and brown here for so much of the year that the winter green is a real treat. It's great for the nursing mother alpacas to have green feed available, too. Everything is going much more smoothly than last year!
