Unemployment continues to rock.  I have completed more sewing projects, and I have also taught myself to knit again and finished a project I started over six years ago when I first got the urge to learn how to knit.  I remember now why I quit doing it - it takes forever and makes my fingers wickedly sore.  I have also discovered the wealth of great ( Read more... )

Last weekend I went to Detroit to see my best friends from college.  The weekend did not start off the greatest, as I was pulled over five minutes from my house and given my first ticket (for speeding).  Noooo!  But, I later calculated it was the fourth time I've been pulled over for various infractions, so I guess I was lucky to have escaped ( Read more... )

Well, I've now been jobless for about two weeks. I had a lovely holiday season of uninterrupted time with family and in-laws, without having to worry about returning to my former hellish job. Man, these last two weeks at my job have felt like an eternity. I am so, so glad that the end has finally arrived...tomorrow is my last day. My boss has not sent out a notice stating that I'll be gone after tomorrow, as is the custom at this place, so I don't think a lot of people even know about it. My tree is up and lit, my Christmas displays are arranged and lit, where applicable, on table and dresser tops; only some odds and ends remain to be decorated. Yay!
