He's gone and skipped his classes again today because does not care for complex equations or petty, sugar-coated histories he can see lies through. So he's gone right off and planted himself outside, lying on the ground, just staring up at the sky.
Koschei hasn't even changed out of the clothes he slept in the night before (which weren't terrible,

By his third class, he found that he couldn't do it anymore. Not lie, of course, he was decent at that, but sit there through the courses by himself. Everything felt so different without the other boy there, he was uncomfortable, a little bothered really, b the whole thing and by the time that class had ended, he was taking off for outside the Academy walls, having a pretty good idea of where the other may be.
It doesn't take him long, just enough time to drop off his things and pick up a few others, before he's slipping through a few cracks and racing to meet the other boy.
"You," he says breathlessly as he falls over, his grin wide. "I can't believe you actually left me!"
Oh sure, he's trying to sound offended but it's not working very well.

So when Theta finally arrives, he looks up at the other boy, grinning. "Hm, it took you this long to notice, did it?"
He's teasing and there's a laugh to his voice. He shifts and sits up only slightly, "I think I'm offended."
Koschei plops back down onto the ground and stretches his arms over his head, only to let one reach and toy idly with the end of Theta's pant leg.
"I didn't want to go today. It's the same thing every day, and you know it. We know it better than any of them." He says it simply, as though it just is.
And sometimes, he thinks the whole Academy knows, too.

Which is a complete lie. He would show him no matter what happened and he knows that Koschei is well aware of that but he can still pretend.
As the other continues speaking, Theta rummages through the bag, dropping a sandwich on the other boy's chest before pulling another out for himself.
"Well, of course we do," he states between bites. "But that doesn't mean we can run off whenever we'd like."
A pause.
"Well, actually, it means that you can't run off whenever you'd like. I hate being there by myself, Koschei, and at least one of us has to show up on occasion."

Sitting up finally (note, even, the bed head!) he unwraps the sandwich and starts eating, listening to the other as he does.
"Oh, so I have limitations and you don't? You've run off your fair share of times on me. Leaving me alone with those morons in spacial navagation courses. Do you remember that?"
He leans over the other, using his lap, bag and all if need be, as a pillow.
"I'll try and go next time." He resigns, looking up at Theta before his eyes focus on the sky again.
