Caster Semenya is on suicide watch.

My heart just breaks for this young woman. She's been raked over the coals for something she cannot help. She has been the victim of world wide ridicule. It's just disgusting.

bad crap, article, 2009, sports, sad crap

Mine too. She has been dehumanized in a way that is just horrifying. It makes me so angry.

EVERYONE should be angry. But there are people that are making fun of her. Animals!

I wish there was somewhere safe that girl could go and hide, and collect herself.

I am so livid over this. So absolutely livid. She is a WOMAN. The fact that they've done this to her...my heart just breaks for her. I wish there was some way to let her know of all the support she has worldwide.

It is sooo heart breaking. I'm livid for her, and for all intersexed people, parents of intersexed children who must be just terrified by this news.

I wish I knew where to send a letter of support. Would the world show a bit of compassion and empathy, just once? Fucking mean spirited media fuckoffs. I won't read any online coverage of her becuase that just feeds the media machine. I'm not going to click, and I hope no one else does. I hope the media gets the message that the world does not have the right to know about other people's genitalia. Fuck OFF media!

I understand where you are coming from. I surely don't mean to propagate more meanness towards her or anything. I didn't really have the time to summarize the information when I posted. I am outraged that she is do distraught that she's on suicide watch, I also wish there was some way to send her a letter letting her know she has sympathy and support from people who do not consider her some "freak of nature" or an "it". being intersexed is challenging enough without all this other shit. Finding out the way she did, having people insult her, having all she's worked for now being considered circumspect. What a nightmare for this young woman.

I came to my conclusion that I was only adding to the frenzy yesterday when I read an entry in another LJ about the issue. I feel bad for her. Truly, her whole paradigm has changed. It must be awful to have her entire life called into question, and I hope she is able to come to a place of equilibrium outside the public criticism and scrutiny.

I also hope the "medical professional" who leaked the test results gets his/her just rewards. What a shitty thing to do. Shame on him/her!

That "medical professional" is on my list of people who should be punched in the throat.
