Supernatural - End of Season One

Holy crap! Those of you who were watching from the beginning must have hated the wait for season two to start. The finale was a..m..a..z..i..n..g! But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Dead Man's Blood: Looking back, I'm not a huge fan of Jon. I feel like the fandom worships him and, at the time, I really loved the character. But now... I feel no love for him. (I do like JDM, though. Don't get wrong.)

Devil's Trap: Meg Masters, the girl, died. The demon possessing her didn't. Rachel Miner, who kills it as Meg, is just the next meat suit.

What is the pendant Dean wears all the time? And what about the ring he wears on his right ring finger? You'll find out about the necklace later. It's too sweet for me to feel right spoiling it for you. The ring is just a ring.

But.... BOBBY???? Thoughts?!

Someone told me the ring was his mother's, but didn't want to tell me about the pendant. Spoiler...

Yes, I understand now about Meg now. Several people have explained it to me.

I have sort of mixed emotions about John. He claims to do everything he does "for the boys," but he's a little hard to love a lot of the time. I have loved JDM for years. He's a terrific actor.

Bobby first showed up in "Devil's Trap." He's another hunter, kinda-sorta friend of John's and surrogate father to the boys. He's my favorite character on SPN. Has been since he first appeared.

I.... don't remember the ring being Mary's. Hm, just looked it up, it's kind of an inferred thing, but apparently it was hers.

I figured someone must have, but I'm not reading everyone else's comments, so I just decided to answer. :P

John is... pretty awful at times. There's no way around it, he didn't treat the boys well a lot of the time. I don't like how he's sort of romanticized. I much prefer Bobby.

Oh, OK...I remember him, but didn't catch his name when watching. He taught John about hunting back at the beginning, right?

supernutjapan gave me the link to SuperWiki. WOW! What a ton of info and trivia that site has. Someday I want to go exploring there. I think that's where she saw about Dean's ring having been his mother's.

The worst thing about the season 1 finale was that we didn't know if there was going to be a season 2 at the time. This might have been all we got.
I remember being totally shocked by that ending, nearly starting to hyperventilate because all I could think was WHAT!?!?! It is possibly one of my favorite cliffhangers ever.

Love the whole family dynamic. When people ask me why I love the show that's my answer. I feel their reactions and most of the things relating to them being a family is one of the most realistic things on TV.

The black smoke that came out of Meg at the end there is basically Demon!Meg, so the black cloud can get out of hell again and posses people.

Oh yes, it would be terrible to see the last episode of season one without knowing if the show had been renewed for another season. I agree...an excellent cliffhanger.

They argue and disagree, sometimes violently, but there is so much love there, too. I love that.

Yes, I understand now that the black smoke is theactual demon Meg and the girl Meg was just the body the demon was using.

About Meg... it's confusing because we don't know the demon's real name. She possesses Meg, and that's what she calls herself. And when she shows up again in season 5, she's still called Meg, even though she's possessing another girl.

Dead Man's Blood - I especially love the scene with Sam and John. I agree, JDM is so good in this ep.

Salvation - Another great ep. Favorite moments... Sam wanting to go into the burning house, but Dean wouldn't let him. Also, the "three of us, that's all we have" scene.

Devil's Trap - Awesome finale! One great moment after another! JDM as a demon, Sam not shooting John, the shock ending with the car... and so much more. Bobby is awesome, too.

Yes, I understand about Meg and the demon now.

I've loved JDM forever. He's such a wonderful actor. Did you see Grey's Anatomy the season he was on and dying? OMG! So heartbreaking. And he was adorable in P. S. I Love You with Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank. Now there's a good movie to add to your Netflix queue. This icon is from it.

Yeah, Devil's Trap was really good and had me on the edge of my seat. I was so glad I had season 2 waiting in the wings. It must have been a horrible wait for those of you watching live until season 2 rolled around.

I love JDM, but I haven't seen him in anything else. I'll have to check out P.S. I Love You.

I started watching in season 4, so luckily, I didn't have to wait between season 1 and 2. I can't imagine having to do that! Also, in ep 2.09 there's a big cliffhanger, and this was the last ep before the Christmas hiatus that year. They had to wait over a month to find out what happened. And yay, you won't have to wait then, either!

JDM doesn't appear in P. S. I Love You until about half way through, but it's worth the wait. It's one of my favorite movies.

I have the DVDs for seasons 1 - 5 so no waiting for me....at least not until I start season 11.

Gosh, season one seems so long ago now. And yes, all my questions have been answered, usually by supernutjapan or casey28 or both. They have incredible memories when it comes to SPN.
