This carnival came about as the result of a conversation with a close Native friend about cultural values of beauty and attractiveness, and how they differ between many Native cultures and the western mainstream. You're most welcome. I'm particularly impressed by the tangentially related discussion about this that took place at LaToya Peterson's racialicious post.

Now that the comments have been closed, I can no longer communicate with a cruel secretary.

I wonder what's so problematic women of color talking out their differences and similarities in that venue.

wow thankyou for these links, i'm hoping to do my final year undergrad psych project on BME women and objectification so this is really interesting plus on a personal level as a mixed race woman.
