There. I log into this account to leave a comment because it has the right icon. CHAOS.
Nice log, you two! I am sitting firmly on my character in my head, because he doesn't get what the big fucking deal is with a couple open-handed blows to the face. But then, he's like that.
Did I tell you they all hold ranks named after chess pieces? Pretentious as hell.
To be perfectly honest, Jean doesn't exactly see why it's such a horrible thing. I mean, she doesn't like getting hit, but she's slightly irked that everyone's all 'OMG ABUSE' when, to her mind, there wouldn't be a peep made if she had a penis. Jean would be screaming bloody murder, possibly outright dealing it, if Shaw beat up on, like, Alyssa, and it's still a good thing she doesn't know about those bruises, but Jean's not seeing herself as the weaker partner here.
Knowing you could deconstruct someone to screaming, traumatized atoms is a great comfort. ;-)
But I threw in CHAOS just for you! And I really am quite pleased by these two logs. And the Sean log. And the soon-to-be Emma log. I am surrounded by awesome.
Jean has fortunately established to 'most everyone that she can tand up for herself. I think they are baffled as to why she would not, and seem to have decided that it's because SHAW IS OMG A BAD MAN and she was too frightened or manipulated to do it, or something.
Granted, Shaw is OMG A BAD MAN, but fear and manipulation had less to do with it than tactics. Jean suspects there is some gentle chauvinism at work here, and so her irking is more from a vaguely feminist ideal that equal rights means one also must be willing to accept equal consequences. If Shaw would backhand a guy for similar things, Jean's not going to bitch about him hitting a woman for them. She'll just bitch that he's hitting anybody, if she feels like bitching.
Granted, it is somewhat fuzzy-making to have both Logan and Sean all "Grr! Argh!" on her behalf. ;-) And the Phoenix is pleased that someone will be smackin' him.

Being overprotected and cosseted sucks, doesn't it, Jean? You go on and stand up for yourself and tell everyone to let you do it! So there! Rawr!
