I'm setting this some time after his suspension, and I'm thinking he goes all dark and depressed and emo!uchi after all the mistakes he thinks he has made, and he's missing little Ryo so much. :P I'm not a bad person for killing him off. XD I think that with their culture, it's not that improbable. :D haha.
