"Everyone ready?" she asked.

Yet, at the same time she was also excited. Here was her chance to finally be proactive, to show that she belonged in this school and that she was not just some passive victim who ran away. Besides, Rinoa was the one in danger, and even if all Lucy had felt was soul chilling terror at diving into the unknown she would still have done so for her friend.
Checking her gear one last time, she turned to Pamela and nodded. "I'm ready."

Her abilities could be used offensively if needed, and Lucy's portals could get them out of a tight spot, so she felt they were about as ready as they possibly could be for this adventure while still packing lightly.
"All right, then. Let's go."
She punched in the settings and turned some dials in the time machine and braced herself for the trip.

Months had passed, and she had even painted a portrait of Shikamaru with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Still, it didn't seem as though anyone was coming to rescue them just yet. Then again, it was entirely possible that there wasn't anything available to rescue them just yet. It wasn't as if time travel was common.

But if finding Riku had been difficult, finding other students was somehow more so, if for the fact that it took Sora two whole days just to figure out how to properly buy something to eat. It wasn't so bad; he had clothes now and he'd set up camp with Riku outside the border of a city called Nagoya.
"Nagoya..." Sora said, because that was some of the only Japanese he'd managed. He still thought if he spoke enough in American-English, eventually if there was a student here, they'd be able to detect more of their kind around. Him trying to learn Japanese (badly) probably would have had the same effect. "Look at the maple trees! What were those again? Kaede?"

To be quite honest, he remembered how to simply say 'tree' more than he remembered how to specify what sort of tree something was. But it sounded like it could have possibly been the right word at the very least. But then again, it could have something else entirely different and wouldn't that have been awkward.
Still, at least they'd managed to not be totally lost. True, he had something of a sneaking suspicion that people were giving him funny looks behind their backs, but that... might actually turn out to their advantage, especially if word got around about 'those funny looking people'.

No, he wasn't. It seems as if he were within earshot of two youths that had been speaking it, one with dark brown hair, and another with silvery-white hair. As he sat there thinking for a moment as to whether or not he was making it all up in his mind, he just couldn't help but want to approach them.
He rose up, and cautiously made his way toward them, keeping a hand on the hilt of his sword as he did so. When he got close enough to them, he only gave them a slight bow before he spoke to them.
"Did... do you two speak English?"
Keeping it simple enough like this was for the best. If he was mistaken, then he could just come up with some excuse and go well on his way toward the castle.
