Apocalypse Now!

This was a reply to a post regarding Apocalyptic thinking over in skatche. It pretty much sums up my thinking on immanatizing the Eschaton, the Apocalypse (which I've been thinking about since seeing The Omen and 6/6/6), etc.

I agreed with ya up until you said

"Personally, I believe in immanatizing the eschaton, which is perhaps the Chaote's version of The End Times. It says that the End Times are every moment, as we are all constantly reCreating the Now (and the Past, and the Future). What do you mean by "RAM"? If you're making a computer analogy, Fenwick might be able to help you out better re: this.

I was, however, speaking of the everPresent, HereNow, which--although everChanging--is the only Constant. Ram Dass' book "Be Here Now" from the 60's gives a good idea of what I'm talking about here. The Past is merely a mismash of jumbled memories, tangled associations, and random imprinting, whereas the Future is nothing more than the habitat of our fantasies, fears, and illusions.

The HereNow is the only thing we can be sure of.
