Lego History of the World

Ian is currently playing "Lego Star Wars". A significant portion of his world these past couple of weeks is composed of Star Wars knowledge. He sometimes refers to "our doodeetoo", which means, of course, "R2D2". His 4 year old grasp of language hasn't yet allowed for the use of serial numbers as names, so he has interpreted it the best he ( Read more... )

I've mentioned earlier that I'm curious how Zane will see Star Wars because it'll all be so familiar. At Maker Faire, there was a life-sized R2-D2 that rolled up to Zane and made all the R2-D2 sounds (making him rather nervous).

So when Zane sees Star Wars, he'll be thinking, "Hey, that robot got in a movie. Good for him. Hey, that big guy with the cape has the same kind of sword I do. Huh, I've seen all these vehicles before. Didn't they do anything original in this?"

We showed them the first (forth) movie last weekend. There were a lot of, "Hey, that's the guy from the game.", comments and I had to keep explaining that they did not make the movie because the game was popular.

Writing the speeches for Lego Winston Churchill is the hardest part. "We will fight them on the Lego pirate ship, we will fight them on the Lego Dino-land..."
