Crafting for a thinner you!

Dr. Barb was reading Real Simple today, and it had some tips on weight loss and management. One of the tips...?

KNITTING! *laughs*

Knitting keeps your hands busy, so it stops them from stuffing your face ;). I'm cutting edge, yo!

That's pretty smart!

Here are a couple of ways I used to "trick myself" into eating less.

1. Once I made the food, I'd put the portions on my plate & then immediatly put the rest into containers & into the fridge. It got me into the mindset of: This is it. Enjoy. Eat slowly.

2. After the meal & dishes were done, I'd turn off the kitchen light. It was kind of a self-deterrent if I'd feel the need to munch on chips & salsa or ice cream, etc. Sorry, the kitchen's closed. Please call again.

3. After the meal, I'd immediately brush my teeth. This worked wonders because if I still felt peckish after dinner, I'd have to just brush my teeth a second time in one evening...and who wants that?

Good luck with the knitting & lessening of pounds!

I'm bad at putting food away even after I'm done, heh. But that's something I could try. If I'm not starving... ;)

Oh, the light thing I don't think would work. Lights are constantly on and off in my little apartment, heh.

I... ok, this might be a little ick, but I don't brush mu teeth twice a day. I'm lazy... I brush mine in the shower, that's it. Spitting in the sink? Totally grosses me out, heh. My teeth don't seem too worse the wear for it, so eh.

But thank you for the tips! I've got 3 patches done for the little pillow I'm knitting so far, so it's going good so far! :D I like knitting. Pounds? Well, I could lose maybe 10-ish more, but I'm not stressing too much. Just gotta NOT gain any back ;).
