I may have to start taking this personally...

I would just like to make it known that if I receive one more e-mail about Mother's Day (thank you Tesco, Sainsburys & Boots for your multiple contributions), I may actually scream ( Read more... )

halt, rant

It is just all a bit poo. My granny Myers actually died on mother's day when I was 12.

Boo to commercial exploitation that makes us sad.

Oh God yes this level of spammage is really annoying. It was incredible that one day shops were commercially exploiting V-Day and the next it was Mother's Day. Mutti doesn't believe in Mother's Day which makes it a little easier but the level of commercial spammage makes me feel reeeeeeeeeeally guilty for being Not Particularly Arsed cos she isn't. Boo.

Gentle hugs - it's not easy. I agree with Kate father's day seems less of a thing but it's horrible the way people "assume" everyone has living parents.
I hate M day cos whatever I do it's never right.

Yes, indeedy, the commericialisation has gone crazy. I'm just back from dinner at a restaurant that my friend's bf refused to take her to on VD. There was a Mother's Day leaflet on the table.

... this is the kind of restaurant that charges astronomical prices for water and does Jamie Oliver style menus. I don't really think that kind of advertising was appropriate...

..but hugs anyway to people who wince at the sight of parent-day fluff.
