Okay, has anyone else seen the new Pedigree commercial (YouTube link)? The ones where they promote that they give a portion of their proceeds this month to help shelter dogs get adopted? Yeah, well it makes me cry every time I ( Read more... )

Sorry, I didn't mean to leave out the homeless kitties (and rabbits, and ferrets, and birds, and any other animal rescued by a shelter).

I remember a story about a UNH fraternity (which will remain nameless, and yet anyone who knows UNH could probably guess which one it was) that had a dog and they'd get it drunk all the time and rumors had it that raping the dog was one of their hazing rituals. Disgusts and infuriates me to even think about it. Said fraternity got into a lot of trouble and lost it's university afiliation, but personally I think jail time is justified here.

I really, really, really would like to adopt a dog. The reason I don't, though, is because I know that I'm not home enough to take proper care of one.

Kitties don't take as much time. You have to clean the litter box and make sure they have food and water, but they're pretty self-sufficient. If you can take care of a hamster you can take care of a cat ;-)

I cried SO MUCH during the Westminster Dog Show because of that commercial. It got to the point where we had to mute the television during every break just so my poor heart could stop breaking.

I was so pissed that I missed the dog show this wee. I always watch it on Valentine's with Hayle, but I had the date and the channel wrong (isn't it usually on Animal Planet?) So I missed it. Booo. But ... if I had to watch that commercial every 10 minutes I would've been a wreck.
