Dollhouse Shorts: The Tea Party

Sep 13, 2009 12:43

EDIT: The coding for the last few posts I've tried to do has been deeply flawed. In additon to being unable to link to other user's journals, half of the post would be missing, LJ cuts would not work, font styles changed arbitrarily - I've really had enough. Hopefully this post will appear properly, but if you see anything wrong or missing please ( Read more... )

The hats are fantastic! I love the details on them! Capt. John looks good in handcuffs; you must make a pair for me so my Jack and Ianto can play. :) Very well done! I can tell you had a LOT of fun putting it together regardless of how difficult it was.

Haha, everyone is asking me for handcuffs. I may have found a niche market.
The only part of this that was really difficult besides the coding was the fact that Doctor Bride's dress is so large it can be a pain to arrange in a scene. I had to get the folds right and keep it from spilling all over the place.

Very cute! I bought a pair of handcuffs from Mainly Minis but they don't open. If it's not a secret, could you tell me how you made yours?

Oh, and you're not the only one having trouble with LJ's formatting lately.

Oh no, it's not a secret in the least. The handcuffs are actually made from a pair of french coil earring hooks. I squeezed the loops so they were just about closed, then slipped them over John's wrists, tucking the straight edge of each hook behind the coil at the base, where the bauble would attach. The chain in the middle comes from a bit of old necklace.
I used french coil hooks like the ones in the picture because of the thick, flat section and coil at the makes makes them look more like handcuffs than regular shepherd's hooks.

TY! I was thinking of using lobster clasps and bending them rounder. There are a lot of beading stores in my city. Your idea looks great!

I do so love these stories. Your vignettes are just perfect.

I wish we lived near each other because I have a wonderful doll that would make a perfect "alien guest". She's an ElfDoll Katsy. A humanoid cat.
