Daphne stared at the piece of parchment. Oh this was so stupid. Why on earth did she feel sad about the prospect of leaving?! Only a few days ago, she'd been thrilled to go back to her parents mansion, being surrounded by all her lovely possesions, having house elves doing her every bidding, and yet.. She didn't want to leave. As much as she hated to admit it, Ginny had turn out to be lovely company, and there was also Neville... She couldn't help but smile at the fond memory. A memory she certainly planned to add to if she stayed in the house.
She sighed. She really didn't want to leave. How odd. She sat down on the sofa with a soft "thump" and rested her head in her hands. Well, hopefully people would've noticed the good things she'd been doing, and not just the bad ones on the first couple of days.
Neville burst into the living room, his eyes falling immediately on the parchment. "I heard," he exclaimed, and darted across the room, staring at the paper, still insanely nervous, his hands clasped tightly into fists. He recognised that his name wasn't there, and made his way back over to the sofa and sat down, then looked up at Daphne.
She looked...well, she looked really upset, and he moved a little closer.
"Daphne...um...can I get you something? It's not too early for something strong, is it?"
Daphne looked over at Neville. He seemed so concerned. Concerned for her? Well that was a new thing. Most men didn't really care about her or how she felt. It was all about hooking up with people with good publicity, good fortune, respectable bloodlines, and blah blah blah.
She decided she didn't give a darn about those things. Neville was a better man than any of them. She leaned into him and sighed. "I suppose a shot of firewhiskey wouldn't be a bad idea. Just... have one with me?"
How could he not feel bad for her? She'd had happen to her what he had been fearing since they'd begun nominations. He smiled and stood back up as she agreed to the drink, fetching the bottle of firewhiskey from the cabinet, and washing the pair of goblets left over from Draco's party.
Carrying his prized he returned to the soft sofa and sat down, offering her the glasses so that he could open the bottle of firewhiskey.
"I'm sure you won't get voted off," he said, sweetly, as he popped open the half finished bottle and began to pour healthy portions for them both. "Nobody could possibly want you to leave..."
Kevin merely chuckled, tilting his head to the side. So they wanted to get rid of him? Well, he wasn't even nearly finished showing off the new collection. He wasn't going anywhere.
Clasping his hand around the note, he threw it over his shoulder, a wolfish grin on his face.
Rita read the note with disgust. Honestly, the prejduice against Slytherins in this house and this world was disgusting. Obviously, that was what was going on here. Nominated in the first week, her? How ridiculous. her editors would never forgive her if she got sent home now.
She turned away, a small smile curling on her lips. Some of her housemates wanted her gone, did they? Well. She would change that, if she could, and if she couldn't she would make sure the audience doing the voting couldn't bare for her to leave.
George laughed at the list. Honestly. These people were worse than McGoogly. One little absence... Still, it was something of a comfort no one had put him there on purpose. Everyone seemed focused on eliminating the Slytherins. He couldn't blame the house there, but there were others who had yet to really show any interest in the game. He didn't seem their names up there. Next time, he thought, I'll go to that little room and take care of things properly. In the meantime, though, he'd just prank Malfoy silly.
