Off to click on your fundraising page after posting a response. My cousin is HIV+ and a very close friend of the family, he's like another uncle, who lives with one of my uncles has AIDS. I'm glad that the meds and awareness has improved since the late 80's/early 90's now so that the cousin is still relatively healthy and that my quasi-uncle has gotten over the decline that almost sent him into full blown dementia/depression/whoknowswhat.

In Chicago we have The Brown Elephant where, when I don't have the money to donate, I then send on my old clothes, books, and furniture to be sold to benefit the Howard Brown Health Center. It helps people like my quasi-uncle who gets a visit a few times a week by a caretaker who brings meals and helps with bathing/etc when my uncle is off at work.

And now...off to your fundraising page as promised. I'm so sorry that you had to go through the loss of your friends due to this awful disease. :(

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply to this. Thank you for sharing your story--and for sponsoring me. I really appreciate it. (And I'm glad your cousin and your uncle(ish) are doing well.)

oh wow, I really meant to do this weeks ago, but time slipped by me. I usually mail you my payment as a check, but being close to the deadline I went to your fundraising page and donated.

Thanks,

Kimberly
