001 [The Cafeteria]

Jun 17, 2010 17:44

[It was lunchtime, finally. Remy thought he'd been clever, signing up for this school in this new world.  If he was going to be stuck here, he thought, having every resource possible at his disposal would be a great idea, right?  He'd only been to four classes so far, though, and he was convinced he'd underestimated, well, everything.  His notes ( Read more... )

[Remy looked up, an eyebrow raised. French? Here? Did they even have a France here? ...probably not. He smiled a cocky, self-confident grin, and went about clearing a space of his gratuitous notes. His response was also in French, of the Cajun dialect.]

Sure thing, my friend. Take a seat. The name's Remy. Remy leBeau. You?

[Remy keeps smiling, but leans back, crossing his arms behind his head and putting his feet up on the table.]

Pleasure to meet you, Abel. Now, are you talking about this week or originally?

[Bulla pauses near Remy's table. She'd seen a few new faces pop up since her time here, and didn't recall ever seeing him. She generally liked being friendly and sociable as a rule, and there were people from so many interesting worlds that it was kind of fun to find out what the similarities and differences were.]

The Garden's not that bad once you get used to it. You're new here, right?

[Remy looks up from his notes, heaving another sigh, then a charming, slightly disarming smile spreads across his face when he lays those red on black eyes on her.]

It ain't the Garden that bothers me, petit. It's the classes. Been a while since I been in school, non? But, alores, you right, there. I'm new. The name's Remy. And who might you be, chere?

My name's Bulla. Nice to meet you, Remy! The classes are just part of being at the Garden...some of them are pretty useful, though.

[He nods. Couldn't argue with that point.]

Sho' nuff, mon petit Bulla. They full of some good info, that's true. [He gestures to the chair next to him.] You wanna take a load off?

Truer words have never been said.

[Technically, she hadn't meant to reply to him, but she couldn't help it, because it's what she's been thinking for a good long while now. Ever since the beginning of the quarter, actually.

The words just slipped out of her mouth, and she'll probably regret it, but at least she said something.]

[He turns to this new voice, a small smile on his lips.]

I don't know about them bein' the truest words, ever, but they be accurate, that's sho' nuff, petit.

[Naoto frowns, an eyebrow raising at the foreign pet name.

Once again, she's chosen the wrong person to speak to.]

Still one of the most accurate things I've heard in a while.

[He shrugs.]

I reckon so. [He smles, a confident gesture.] When Remy does things, he usually does 'em right, non?

[Remy can have a tiny little five foot boy (... possibly girl? he's not feminine, though, so much as just 'not masculine' wander up to him, looking at him questioningly. He does have a tray of food (including a HOT DOG * 3*), and in addition to his backpack, there's a whiteboard slung over his shoulder.

Not that Rion would normally go out of his way to bother people, but this is where he sits normally. And. Well. He's not sure what Remy's problem is with this place.]

[Remy looks up as the boy(?) approaches and arches an eyebrow. He notes the hotdog and the whiteboard, the latter giving him pause for a moment.]

Bonjour. You, eh, lookin' for a seat?

[Unfortunately, his hands are full, so he can't really respond; he just sort of nods and looks away.]

[Remy clears a spot for his tray.]

There ya go, mon ami. Take a load off.

[Today is a good day. Today will go smashingly. This is a mantra that Selphie is very familiar with. She was even lucky enough to get a hotdog for lunch! She's already heading to a table, quite happily mind you. But with all the luck and grace that she possesses (read: very little sometimes) She'll manage to catch her foot on a chair leg that's just a little too far out, sending her sprawling face first to the ground right near where poor Remy is trying to eat his lunch.]

Ooooow. Darn! Now I'm going to have to go through that line again!

[She sits back up on her knees, and tosses her tray and scattered food a wounded look. Oh, a fallen soldier :( She will mourn for you, food.]

Mega Bummer. [She glances up at Remy, outstretching a hand.]

Heeeey! Could you hand me some napkins please? That'd be super helpful!

[Remy watches the spectacle with a bit of shock. I was almost like watching a train wreck. He blinks when she looks up to him, though, then shakes his head to clear it. She looks like she's used to that, poor kid. He hands her the napkins like a good little soldier.]

You okay, petit? That was a nasty fall, non?

[Hooray napkins! She's already cleaning herself up and the mess she made from being an absolute Klutz. After a moment she grins back up at Remy.]

Nah! That's nothing! I'm perfectly fine.

[She gathers herself up to her feet, and dusts off her butt before picking up the tray full of fallen lunchtime soldiers :( Bummer. She glances back at Remy.]

Thanks for the napkins! That was a real lifesaver. I'd feel pretty bad if someone slipped because I didn't clean up after dropping everything on the floor!

[He gives her a nod, not really able to keep the smile off his face. She's just so damned happy.]

Sho' nuff. So, you gonna tell me yo' name, or is Remy gonna have to ask nice?
