I loved this. You managed to provide both unintrusive but coherent backstory, and entertaining, slightly sad, funny, worrying, true to character front story in just over a thousand words. Love the idea of Willow running a bookshop in England and hiding from, well, pretty much everyone. It does make me wonder about the London Bridge incident. The Willow/Fred interraction worked perfectly, they are a pairing that make so much sense, and when they're written well they're such a pleasure to read. Fred researching unicorns, Willow and Fred bonding over books and moral grey areas -- oh yes. The final paragraph gave me a chill, before rolling me back into relative comfort again. I like the fact that Willow is still struggling with the magic and her dark side. I suspect that in spite of the 'white glowiness of redemption spell' she always will be. Well, it keeps things interesting.

Thanks so much! My post-Chosen Willow generally has a darker tinge to her... and yeah, I too wonder about the London Bridge incident. I love AUs but am bad about leaving too much to the reader's imagination -- which I've just realized has been a problem in my writing since I was in like sixth grade, so, nothing new there. :p

But anyhow, I'm so glad you liked it and left such good feedback!

And dude, Fred/Willow has the potential to be an amazingly awesome pairing! *loves on it like whoa*

*points up* What she said. I love the backstory you hint at here, and it makes me want more which is probably surprising to exactly no one. This is dark and cute at the same time, a wonderful mix, and the end is really powerful.

Loved it! :)

*g* This AU goes on the list of things to explore more thoroughly when I get my attention span back. Let's just say I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for reading! So glad you enjoyed!

Wonderfully three-dimensional, you feel you were standing in the doorway watching them. And the use of THAT line and Willow's instinctual reaction. More please.

Eee, thank you!

And the use of THAT line and Willow's instinctual reaction.

No clue at all where that came from, but it felt right. Eep!

Thanks for reading!

I keep reading Buffy fic that I love and realising it's written by you. I can't tell you how much I love your writing, and how perfect the characterisations always are.
