Reading from church today

We sang "Come Thou Fount", which is one of my favorites. And we talked about the Luther/Zwingli conflict (Reformashun theologian smakdown). And Zwingli called Luther a cannibal, because of that little disagreement about transubstatiation and Zwingle is a consubstantiation guy. So that was all awesome. And then we got a reading from Rumi.

Okay, I know this goes totally against the spirit of the Rumi reading...but Zwingli was a memorialist, no? (Granted, that's a rather polarizing Lutheresque term...my LCMS colleague and I called our Presbyterian pastor friend "our favorite memorialist" as a joke.) Luther wasn't into transubstantiation. He was all about the "in, with, and under" of Christ's presence, but not into stuff like venerating the sacrament, etc.
