I heard that you were moving to NYC. that is a huge step. where will you be staying?
it sounds like you are doing well. that's good. I'll be seeing you at Passover. Rebecca might be coming in for the first night so you might see her as well.
your mother keeps asking me to paint something for her. I honestly have no idea what she likes and I doubt that she'd want a giant black painting of deformed people (which i would love). hehe.
just wanted to touch base with you. always good to hear from another Miminal. :)

In Queens, in Rego Park specifically. And I'm doing really well - the whole making plans thing is scary, but it's nice to be making decisions about my life.

I really don't know what she'd like either. I asked Mom, and she says she doesn't want to pressure you? I really don't have a clue. I want to guess something sort of retro would be good, but it's hard to be sure.

Oh, so, my BIG thing that just happened to me is my grandmother bought me and my mothers tickets to see the Addams Family with Nathan Lane on Broadway! I am so ridiculously excited!

ha! my mother wants to see that musical as well (with nathan lane of course). you'll have to tell me how it is.

NYC will definitely be a learning experience, if nothing else. i hope you like it. for me, it's a nice place to visit but i'd rather not stay there. much rather live in London. :) hopefully in the near future.

Working for a hotel anonymous March 17 2010, 06:35:01 UTC
My mother used to work for a hotel. She will be more than happy to fill you in on the greater details, but the sum that i got is this:

If you want to make more money and enjoy the work you do, they will constantly move you about, till you are promoted to a level of competence at which they aren't comfortable promoting you any higher. Then you are stuck in whatever city they have decided to put you in until you can get someone to "disappear" at the job you have in the city that you want. (i don't work for free)
If you refuse to get on the bandwagon, it starts being unfun apparently. Not sure exactly why.
