Visiting hours were over. Katelyn was asked to leave the hospital. As long as Ralph's condition did not worsen, she would be allowed to have visitors again tomorrow morning at 10:30am

She had the room all to herself. A four person room was now shared between only two girls and God only knew where Era had run off to. Though Vanya didn't mind it. It had taken her a long time to get accustomed to being with someone else in one room, but she still preferred being alone.
Not that she was ever alone. Not really... She could hear their whispers, but even more, she could hear her power calling out to her. It had been a long time since she'd used them. That had been necessary to make recovery possible. But could she not perhaps now use them again? It didn't have to be much, just a little bit...
Vanya could feel the rush of powers through her body. She closed her eyes and stretched out a hand to the window, where the field of resting dead lay at her command. She was close to unleashing her power when suddenly someone knocked on the door.
Her concentration was broken, and Vanya closed her hand into a tight fight. Blue sparks ran over her skin. She slowly opened her eyes.
OOC: XD No, not at all~ Vanya was just looking for someone to 'help' her with her powers~
Vanya closed her eyes again when Katelyn came in. Too much talking, too much talking, too much talking... But for some reason, she never said that out loud. She threw a sideways glance at the plant Katelyn was holding. Vanya then looked back outside again.
She did a good thing? Helping when nobody else could? She was nice? And Katelyn wanted to thank her for that.
...What was wrong with her?
"No thanks are needed," Vanya said quietly. "I just did what I had to do. You're wrong about that nice and friendly girl." But her words rather lacked the usual coldness and hatred.
Katelyn slowly shook her head. "You're lying," she said in friendly rebuttal. "You didn't have to do anything. And that's the point. You could, have just stayed in your own bed. You never even had to get up." She ignored the sideways glances and how the girl tried to distance herself by staring out the window. "But you did anyway."
"I was not in bed," Vanya said irritated, this time more like her usual cold self. "I had my daily medical check-up. Nothing else. And I did what I had to do."
Blue sparks crept over her hand again and that moment of irritation soon turned into embarrassment. Vanya pulled back her hand and held it tightly against her chest to hide those sparks. She didn't want anyone to see them. Only Soi perhaps, and even Soi didn't really know what they meant.
"I told you, because I did not want Ralph's ghost to come here and annoy the hell out of me," she then said, hoping to sound as cold and uncaring as she once did. "I can ignore her while she's still alive. I can't do that with a ghost. So your thanks are misplaced, okay?"
Kate didn't know if Vanya had been in a hospital cot or just having a quick check-up. As sad as it was to say both happened often enough that it was hard to keep track. But nevertheless, it didn't affect her point of view.
A look of concern then crossed Katelyn's face as Vanya clutched at her heart, seemingly from another attack, but again, this was fairly common so the girl tried not to call too much attention to Vanya's condition. She could not suppress the worried look, but at least she managed not to ask any stupid questions that she already knew the answers to. Vanya seemed okay...as healthy as usual, at least...so instead she continued on after that moment had passed.
"Nu-huh," she said with a small smile threatening to tug upwards at the corners of her lips. "You're making stuff up. You came out there to talk to me first." That little grin became just a little more apparent. "You was telling me that it would be all right. That she'd be okay, even when you didn't know. You didn't See anything, not until after that..."
