Man...this just reminds me of that Mythbusters episode where they talk about the myth of a girl in the civil war who got all pregg'd up when a musket ball flew through the testicle of some dude then through her uterus, thus cutting out the middle man (the penis!) in the reproductive act. I know most of their science can be pretty suspect, but they made a good case in that your average bullet, seeing as it is propelled by an explosion made of fire, gets to temperatures that very few forms bacterial life can survive, and those that can would essentially freeze to death in our ice box bodies and their measly 37º.
The Spanish Disease couldn't follow the yellow brick road even if it tried. It would kill 90% of its victims within 2 minutes of taking that route. It couldn't even raise its own zombie army. In the game of life, the Spanish Disease makes like cheap beer and just passes through, hitting the wall at a lethal dose of 90%.
Meanwhile, the last 10% of Guild scampers down the yellow brick road.
There is an old story that, immediately after the Wizard of Oz was filmed, there was a massive midget orgy, because it was the thirties and most of them hadn't met many other people their size before.
I was hoping someone would write about this. Granted, the disease might have managed to kill a few of the Lollipop Guild, but I'm willing to bet that at least a handful would survive thanks to natural immunity, and those three (the representatives) are definitely among those lucky few. Syphilis, unable to kill all of the Lollipop Guild, loses by default.
The Lollipop Guild cannot be taken down by Syphillis. The Lollipop Guild CREATED syphillis as a biological weapon to take down their rival gang The Cabbage Patch Kids. They gave themselves a natural immunity.

Fertile ground for the French disease, I say.
I'm giving this one to the Syph.
