Blub! I think the circumstances leading to Clara's death were in character and I liked the little two hander between the Dr and Clara before she went. I liked the 'you'd be all angry until you saw the first crying child' bit.

My bugbear was that I really wish they'd get some subtle incidental music for once.

Well done... a meaningful exit for Clara, and she faced it with dignity.

And now the Doctor is angry and alone; Clara's warning to him was totally warranted, and Ashildr has now made herself a real enemy. I'm left wondering who the "they" was Ashildr made a deal with, and where she sent the Doctor. Not only that, but what does she want his confession dial for and his TARDIS key, too? Is she trying to hurt him or protect these items from where she's sent him?

I have to admit that, at first, I was wondering if this was going to be another faked death, like with the Daleks earlier in the season. That is a bit of a shame, because it cheapens when the real thing happens.

Okay, I've just now watched it and am still processing a bit. I feel like I need to be a bit careful of what I say as I know there are lots of Clara fans, and that's good, no problems with that. I just never quite "got" Clara. First she was the "Impossible Girl" showing up through the Doctor's history, then she was made out to be Lying McLiarson for a full season, and then she's best buds with the Doctor and all about adventure. It was hard for me to make a connection with the character as she just seemed to be different every season ( ... )

To the last minute, I expected a plot twist. I'm so glad there wasn't one. Clara's death was very well written and acted.
