According to the time in the Gonebeyond, John had been out of the village for two weeks. He was an extremely adaptable man - part chameleon part pirate - and yet leaving that strange world-outside-of-worlds hadn't been as easy as he hoped. He dreamed of River, regularly, of Lore, of Jack, but he was out of their reach now

Months now back, a year and better, beyond since he'd been back in the hull of a Freighter, waiting and wondering where he'd wind up, his cargo of bonds

"I wouldn't know myself, but common knowledge says you aren't wrong." Stildyne swatted him on the rear again, to hurry him towards the cabin they'd built, his room-- hell, the bed that would have to be improvised soon, because he could bunk with Stildyne or Robert for a bit but he'd want his own soon, and there'd be the rest of the gentlemen to explain to-

"I'll cook. Never you worry." Because Hart was here, and in light of that, all the trouble was well worth it. "Not about a thing."
