Gaaah!

The campaign season is hitting new lows and the election is nearly a year away. Not in smears or attacks or the standard lies and misinformation. No. We are new hitting new lows in taste. Okay, Christmas is about as kitsch as it can be anyway, but do we really need our potential national leaders compounding it?

It amazes me how no news outlets anywhere cover Fuckabee's or 91ul1ani's records when they were in office anywhere. Maybe they are actually tired of republicans too and are saving that till the front runner comes out of the primaries and then they are going to pounce them.

But alas, I have no faith in the American people who are of voting age and who do vote. They vote on election year “issues” and they also vote in defiance of the media. IF they tell the nasty truth about a candidate, the dumbasses consider it to be an unfair attack and they go vote for the asshats “just 'cause”

I'm so over politics.

I know it's early, and the machines have barely revved their engines, but I don't see the usual hot button non-issues (school prayer, flag burning etc) or the "morality" issues making their usual impact. The Bushies may have actually done us the favor of exposing the parties' cynical manipulations. I think an awful lot of people are stepping back and opening their eyes, even if it's just a crack and for just a second.

Sigh...

One can always hope!
