This is going to sound strange, but I think one of my favorite parts of this character is that initially, it was hard for me to really get into his psyche and figure out who he was and what he wanted. I related almost immediately to many of the other male characters (i.e.

It's always sad to see Annie cast off as the hot guy's mad girlfriend. Many people seem to think that Finnick choosing to be with Annie despite her mental state is a reflection of how ~amazing he is and whatnot, simply for the fact that he loves someone who has struggles of her own. Sometimes, it comes off as though Finnick is doing Annie a favor. :/ Kinda sad, really. Thankfully, this isn't a widespread view in fandom, so *whew*

Whenever someone associates Annie as merely the 'poor mad girl back home', I backspace the heck out of there. That should not be how she's viewed as a character, period.

It would also make Finnick seem pretty shady. He was attracted to this shell of a girl because she was broken and mad? Uh, no.
