BBQ Reception

Hello everyone! Ok so I am currently debating doing a simple backyard reception. We are only looking at inviting about 55 people . I do not want anything formal at all. Music, drinks, food, bomb fire kind of thing. So we are currently wanting to do a BBQ for the food, having my dad and brothers do this. (my dad wants to and offered my brothers!) We ( Read more... )

this is why you pay attention to what you type instead of worrying about everything! LOL that is great.

Sounds great! Do you have any vegetarians? That would be my only worry, though you do have a few veggie sides.

nope no vegetarians. The only dietry (sp?) restrictions are not everyone eats red meat, and we have to watch sodium.

1.) Sounds yummy. I saw these on sale at pier 1 today and thought how awesome they would be for BBQ Brides or for the wonderful Eco friendly Brides: http://www.pier1.com/TopMenu/Products/tabid/260/Default.aspx?task=viewproduct&id=722&urlname=birchwood-utensils... )

Thank you!
We are planning on doing sun tea and lemonade. As far as the covering we were thinking of getting a tent with sides. That should work right?

I did a bbq reception, and it was very popular. I think it's a great idea, and I wouldn't worry about other desserts.
Also, it does look like you have enough veggie-friendly food there. It's not like you're sticking them with salad.

My only suggestion with the chicken would be to boil it before you BBQ it. Even seasoned BBQ Men can get a little overwhelmed with the day and not get the chicken quite done enough. This way no worries about anyone getting sick.

To keep stuff cold you get a larger dish than you are serving out of and put ice in it then sit the serving dish on top.

I think cupcakes and smores are more than enough :D Sounds like a good party :D
