I've been thinking about getting my teeth whitened before my September 5th 09 wedding. Have any of you now wives gotten your teeth whitened before your wedding? if so, what method did you use? pros/cons

my dentist honestly told me that the stuff he can do in the office wont be much better than what you can get from strips and stuff. or he said - try the strips, if they dont work out for ya, we can do something else. cuz honestly - those appointments are expensive! sounds like you have plenty of time to give something store bought a shot.
i never really did anything but a rinse, and not sure that did much.
I used Opalescence. I had zero sensitivity and I used them for 3 weeks and wore them overnight and they worked so amazingly. The good thing too is that you keep the molds and when you want to whiten more or in the future, you can just get refills of the solution.
I used Crest Whitestrips. I put them on in the morning when I got into the shower and took them off when I got out. I put them on again at night between dinner and going to bed. The only thing I didn't like was that the strips only whiten the visible teeth. Generally that's the point, but when I look at my teeth I feel like it makes the yellow molars more obvious. Probably no one can tell but me but it still bothers me. haha.
Years ago I got a kit with custom molds from my dentist. It whitened all of my teeth but it also made my teeth SUPER sensitive and I had to stop using it. I have sensitive teeth already but the Crest Whitestrips didn't make my teeth hurt.
I've got the high-end Crest Whitestrips (Premium? Platinum? Something like that).
They work pretty well, and don't taste nearly as bad as they used to, but if you don't remember to swallow every so often, they will make you drool a bit.
I don't use them as often as the box says to (wedding's in June; I have time), but they don't cause sensitivity for me. I've gone through about half the box at this point, and people have started commenting that my smile is a lot whiter, so... :)
hehe, i can see myself now, drooling all over the place. but i had the normal ones last year and they tasted like nothing i've ever tasted before! thanks!
I had zoom whitening and it was HORRIBLE at the time! Sure it was worth it in the end... but yikes it wasnt painless!
You have to sit/lay in the chair for over an hour (20 minute intervals) with your mouth propped open full of bits n pieces. But that is the easy part. My teeth are probably more sensitive than most (fillings etc), and after the first 15 minutes, and an average of every 2 minutes after that, I had these popping feelings coming from different places in my teeth. It was like someone was setting off a firecracker inside my tooth... EACH TIME! and this continued for a few hours afterwards as well.... its the worst pain ive felt!! And they didnt even come out as bright as I imagined..
So I wouldnt recommend it... stick with the strips!!
