Sometimes when you toss in all the little details that 'the industry' would love you to have it can get overwhelming. But if you focus on the key things that are important to you and say to heck with the rest... then you'll be able to get it all under control and it won't feel so daunting anymore.

I agree with this. I also found it easier to have a theme, believe it or not. Even if it's just colors or outside or fall or whatever, it means that I can get rid of anything that has, say, pink and lime in it.

Also, so far I've gone with my gut with most of my decisions. I went with my gut for our venue, my wedding ring, our photographer, and my dress. If it felt right to me (or to FH and me), we went with it. And once we make a decision, we don't second guess and we stop looking.

I ordered my flowers from www.wedideas.com.

I bought:
one 10inch brides's bouquet
three 7 inch bridesmaids bouquets
4 bouts

and my total was 186. I think that's pretty reasonable. I dont know what it would have been at a flower shop because I was set on artificial flowers from the beginning.

I used wedideas.com as well. For about $300 I got:

1 10" brides bouquet
4 8" BM bouquets
a toss bouquet
8 bouts
3 corsages

I did some of my own sprucing up of everything when they arrived and that only involved spending $20 at Michael's. I loooove them. Of course I had to use silk because the flower I wanted doesn't make for a good bouquet in their natural size nor when they are live.

I was able to pee by myself in my big-ish dress. Someone here recommended sitting on the toilet backwards (facing the wall).

But get the dress you love, even if you think it's "too simple". My sister's one regret about her wedding is getting the dress our mom loved, not the one she really wanted. Remember, you're the one that has to wear the dress, not her.
