1. Erm, one of the feet fell off my iBook and I can't find it. I mean the little white (or grey, or dirty off-white) dots on the four corners of the underside, which cover up hidden seekrit screws. If anyone has access to an iBook they can chop for parts, or at least spare a foot from it, holla. Oh Shelley, you little cripple. I shall nickname you ( Read more... )

I'm amazed your foot finally fell off. The TiBook loses feet like a diabetic leper.

An option for the less-fashion-savvy is to buy extra feet (big box store, hardware store, or kitchen store should have them) and then cut one into the right shape/size. See also: the ghetto 45-adaptor i almost finished that one time i was out there.

At least i can take some solace in the fact that your foot fell off, in light of your going to Santa Cruz and getting In'n'Out. Oh double-double, how i long for thee!

Extra feet? What name are they sold under, exactly?

I bought a 45 adaptor for $0.35 the week I got to Portland. There's a music store on Burnside that sells them. All I had to do was move 700 miles, and now I can play the three or four 7"s I own that need the adaptor!

Superfluopods.

They're usually "Adhesive-backed rubber feet" or maybe "standoffs" depending on what the marketing people decided they were for. A common application for the things is cutting boards, so if you can't find them, that's a good thing to mention to helpful employees.

As I remember, zestyping has extra iBook feet because the replacements come in packages of four. You might be able to wrangle one out of him while you're in town. Then again, my computer is missing 2 of 4 feet, and I generally don't notice.
