I still think the whole Easter holiday is a little ridiculous. No offense to those who celebrate it and take its religious "roots" seriously or anything, but it's sort of hard to buy into the whole Peter Cottontail thing when you understand the pagan origins and all. Still, I hope those of you who are into it had a good one.

Thanks for the egg, ( Read more... )

lonely winchester is lonely, easter greetings, cheer up emo sammy, i'm too smart to enjoy any holiday ever

Someone who thinks the same way! Finally! I have no purpose to celebrate Easter. I'm not a religious person. As for disappearences... blame Wonderland. That's what I've been doing for about a week or so now. It doesn't get me anywhere, but it's nice to have something to curse at.

Yeah, it's not easy, but with my exprience and training, It's not so hard for me. It depends on who it is, though. Demitri is gonna be a bitch to kill, though. How do you kill you're mentor who practically taught you everything they know...?Yeah... it was a shock. I've never lost control like that. I just snapped and went insane. I somehow managed to decapitate that strigoi that captured us who's been one for about... at least 500 years. So you can only imagine how powerful he could have been. Not only that, I was able to kill the other strigoi like a she was a twig. Though, she was new. The point is, when it happened, I lost it. I was so terrified/pissed off/depressed. It's a dangerous mixture of emotions. The only time I stopped is when Demitri came and held me saying everything was okay now ( ... )

... it sounds rough. That would be like me trying to kill my brother, and I have no idea if my training makes me cut out for that. He's way more badass than I am, and even he couldn't off me when he knew he needed to.

I've seen what can happen when people get stressed after a traumatic event, so I'd hate to have been in the room when a vampire goes postal. Hopefully nothing like that is going to happen here, and if it does, you'll have someone you trust by then to help get you out of it.

Let me get this straight... there's a school exclusively for vampires?

Ah, Exactly! Damn! Demitri was like a god when he was just a dhampir. Now that he's a strigoi he's gonna be a bitch to kill!

[Rose managed to laugh at the vampire comment going postal.]

It's just kind of surprising, even now. I never thought Mason to be the type to be killed like that. And especially not the way it happened.

[Rose smiled at his comment. She felt a little more relieved.]

Thanks. That really means a lot. It's nice to be able to speak openly like this. You're probably the only person that I'm able to speak like this and you'd have the main point in it. Others just get lost in it or creeped out about the fact of being a dhampir.

[She nodded.]

That's right. St.Vladimir's is strictly for dhampirs to train to become guardians in the future and for moroi to control their powers and such. Other then that, it's you're average school campus that you can feel totally safe in, for the most part. It's just nice to have a place to go where you don't have to hide anything.

How exactly do you go from being a dhampir to a strigoi?

I'm sorry about Mason; it's always a shock when somebody you care about dies, especially when it's in such an unexpected way. My dad... well, let's just say that the same went for him.

Yeah, well... technically speaking, I'm not entirely human myself, so like I said, I'm not really one to judge solely on the whole vampire thing. Especially not when I come across one willing to talk it out rather than instinctively trying to kill me or Dean.

St. Vladimir's, huh? I'm guessing the namesake might be closer to Vlad the Impaler than it is to the patron saint of Russian Catholics. Which would be ironic, considering that you view it as a sanctuary

Well, you can either be turned into one forcefully, courtesy of a strigoi, or you can choose to become one by killing someone while drinking their blood. Demitri was turned and Christian's parents chose it.

It's fine. It's still hard to get over, but that goes for any death of someone you care about, right? I'm sorry to hear that.

I don't judge on who people are racewise either.

[Rose had to laugh at the killing comment.]

Oh, but I could if you'd like.

[She was, of course, teasing him]

Yep. Poland brought up something about some other saint with the same name. I mean... looking at his background, it reminds me of our Vladimir, but it's not the same. So, I don't know. It is ironic. I've never been one for religion, therefore, going to church and shit isn't exactly something I do willingly. The only times I did was to see Lissa when on probation and that's all I could do to see here and when I was trying to figure something out about Lissa.

Huh. So blood-drinking doesn't always equate to killing the victim, in your case? That's interesting.

I think I'll be satisfied with not worrying about getting myself killed in this place. Again. Twice was more than enough.

So the anti-religion sentiment is a personal choice and not one inherent in all vampires from your world?

rebelroses April 10 2010, 02:20:43 UTC
Nope. Everyone things that that's the case. I'm a dhampir so I don't need blood to go on. To be honest, tried it once and to me it tasted horrible. I'd rather not when I can eat normal food just fine. However, moroi need that blood. At our school we have feeders for the moroi. Feeders are basically humans who offer their blood. It's pretty much like a drug to them. They get left with wanting more and... yeah. But it's not like they drink enough to kill them or anything close to it.

You died before? Well... technically speaking... so have I but...

Yeah, that's right. Lissa's extremely religious and would never miss a sunday for church. If she did she'd feel guilty for it. That's another stereotype. We have to choice to follow religion or not. I just... well.. it's never really been my forte, personally speaking.

... interesting. I always thought that the one thing all vampires had in common was a dependency on blood, human or otherwise. Guess that just shows that the multiverse or whatever is a lot more varied than I thought.

The grand total is three deaths: once back home and twice here. All were fairly traumatic, as far as deaths go, considering that most people manage not to get bumped off once by the time they're my age.

I guess that's no different than hearing that some demons think of me as their own Jesus Christ, so I'll go with that.

The good thing with being a dhampir is that I can stand the sunlight, i look normal, and I don't have a dependency on blood. I was technically "killed" when I was with Lissa and her family. They got into a car accident, which happened to not really be one and cause because of Victor... That phychotic asshole... Her parents and brother Andre were killed. I was technically killed too, but somehow Lissa brought me back to life with her spirit abilities.

So basically, the only things separating you from the average human are... enhanced abilities and potentially eternal life?

And by spirit abilities, do you mean she's a necromancer?

Reply

rebelroses April 10 2010, 03:13:32 UTC
Yep, basically. I'm pretty damn human as for genetics and stuff, but I have moroi and dhampir blood. My dad was a moroi and my mom is a dhampir.

Spirit abilities are... weird. I guess you could say that, but I'd like to think of it as more of a cleric then anything. She has a thing for healing hurt/near death animals. She can heal others and she was learning how to visit people in dreams.

Okay, I think I get it now. It's not so much a matter of spreading some kind of vampire virus in your world as it is being born into that sort of thing, along with it potentially spreading.

She sounds like a mystic of some sort. Those kinds of things would take a whole lot of years for a witch from my world to master to any reasonable degree. As far as I know, only angels can really do it right.

Yeah. We arn't "made" into vampires. The only time that happens is when you are turned into a strigoi, which is pretty much equivalent to death. Moroi are full blood. Even if I had a moroi father, I'm still a dhampir because it takes two morois to make another. The reason why there's so many dhampirs is because a dhampir woman has sex with a moroi man, the man leaves them after, the mother is forced to raise her child on her own. Most of them that it happens to end up giving up being a guardian, but there are others that are different. Take my mother for instance. Instead of wanting to take care of me, she dumped me off at St. Vladimir's as soon as possible to continue her duty as a guardian. That's part of the reason why I don't like her. there are more, but you get the point ( ... )

Seems like a complex system. It must've been hard growing up in that kind of thing.

That's... kind of a big deal, isn't it? To have that kind of link with someone? I don't think I'd want to know half of the things going on in Dean's mind, if the stuff he actually says is anything to go off of.

Yeah, my mom is a very famous guardian for some of the most nobel families out there. So, everyone idolizes her. I don't though. She didn't even want to watch my grow up or take care of me. Everytime I see her I want to yell at her. We butt heads all the time. She came randomly one day to a class of ours. While everyone else was drooling about how cool she was, I just yelled at her. She pissed me off and Demitri dragged me out of the class and gave me one of those zen life lessions that sound like they came from a fortune cookie.

To be honest, I didn't think I'd miss them so much... but now I almost crave for it. I miss his weird ass oldies music he was so into... I miss those western books he always seemed to read. I miss teasing him and calling him, "comrade".

[Rose felt herself frown. She felt like crying almost, but kept it to herself. She was never one to cry in the first place. Talking about how much she missed Demitri really touched a sore spot for her. She looked to the side.]Sorry... I should really stop myself before I ( ... )
