The bunnies were interesting and frightening all at once, but the game was a lot of fun. Sameth is grinning as he grabs a beer and heads over to the party to say hello to people.

His cricket whites aren't quite as clean as before, it turns out demon bunnies explode, but he doesn't look as bad as he did after the last cricket game he played in.

"What did you think of baseball?"

"I liked it. I wish when I played cricket that I'd been allowed to cheat and use the Charter."

"Well, you know they say cheaters never prosper," Meg says cheerfully.

"What would that have let you do?"

"I'm not sure, probably I would have tried to put spells into the bats. Not that I would actually cheat but some of the people playing had some interesting advantages."

"Well, I think we managed to keep things pretty even," Meg says.

"But, yes, there was quite a range of experience and ability, wasn't there?"

"Yes, it worked out and made it a lot of fun to watch. I just think next time I want to play."

Meg laughs. "I can't even think about a next time, yet," she says. "But Mike gave us permission to leave the diamond, so . . . it'll be here."

"You don't have to. Tonight you celebrate and its still in one piece too."

"Yes," Meg says. "I have to say, in all my years of attending baseball games, I've never seen one end quite like that."

"Well this is Milliways."

"Yes. And everytime I think I know what that means, something else happens."

"That's part of it, I'm learning."

[ever_noteful]

"It's an interesting place to hang out," Meg says.

"How've you been?"

"Pretty good, things have been fairly quiet."

[ever_noteful]

"That's good," Meg says.

"Especially here."
