I love diamonds -- when used as part of abrasive grinders. As jewelry, though, eh.

i am not a fan of diamonds either. i would prefer something with meaning, or an heirloom. i have my nana's diamond and its kept in my jewlery box for my future children.
a band with memories attached or even just a promise would suffice for me...

I don't actually LIKE my Nana's diamonds, but how do you say no to an octogenarian?

i am not a fan of my nana's diamond either, but the last thing she made a point to do before she died was to make sure i had it...she was aggitated and wouldn't take pain meds until i told her i had it, and promised i would keep it.

People's attitudes about shiny rocks genuinely puzzle me. Mostly, I blame societal programming.

Until the free trade diamond becomes a reality, I will not buy or accept a new diamond.

I completely respect that. I've been troubled by stories I've heard about diamond money supporting some truly horrible regimes in Africa, also.

Bottom line for me is, though, I don't feel it's healthy to have to prove you love someone by spending money.
